Hello, world

Tinkering the kernal Logo

Today, I'm happy to announce the launch of this blog, all shiny and brand spanking new!

It’s been two to three weeks in the decision making and coding and I'm really happy that the community can finally see it. There are still many major changes that have to be implemented in the website, but for now, it is live!

Channels

The most important feature is the introduction of channels on the blog. Putting everything in one column, organized by tags with extensive description, and having all the posts in chronological order on the homepage.

Multiple Authors

Another feature is the support for multiple authors on the blog. Stories can be filtered by the visitors based on different author names. Each author has their own meta-profile page with their bio and the stories they've contributed.

Honestly, I don't know why I added this feature.

Open source

The last thing I want to mention is that I’m going to open source most of the things which happen over this blog because one of the things I love doing is to work in the open when I can. I love involving the community I build in almost everything and the blog is no exception to that rule. I’ve migrated the previous blog design from half-cooked HTML based site and rebuilt it which is now powered by Static Website Generator Engine, which is also open source.

If you have suggestions for how to make this new blog better, email me or, contact me over LinkedIn. If you want a walkthrough of how I built the blog from ground-up, keep an eye as I will release an engineering blog detailing meaty technical parts.

More to come

There’s so much more I want to do with this blog in the future. Sound off in the comments about what you think of the changes, ideas you have about how to make it better, or take an extra step and become a contributor writing code. Until next time!

Oh shit, I just saw that I haven't implemented the comment section yet!
